Bao'an District Urban Renewal of Fanshen Industrial Park
Fanshen Industrial Zone, Bao'an District, Shenzhen, is located in a comprehensive cultural activity center, a community service center, and a bus terminal. Since the plots gather people of different business types, the small public space on the ground is not enough to bear the use of diverse people, so the design starting point is to make the public open space three-dimensional and create more space in the vertical dimension. The design is inspired by the spatial characteristics of Chinese classical gardens-the topological relationship between architecture, environment and paths. By introducing spiral ramp corridors, the four-dimensional space of the building with continuous time and space is shaped to strengthen the perception and experience of the building. The three-dimensional ramp organically connects the urban public space, the first and last bus stations, the community service center, and the comprehensive activity center. The designer hopes that the building will serve the community center more and have the attributes of an open block. During working hours, it can be used as auxiliary transportation space and activity space to reach the community service center and activity center; at closing time, it is still open independently to provide public activity space and urban viewing platform for surrounding residents 24 hours a day, inspiring diverse behaviors to occur. The architectural space extends to the urban block space.
